Housed in a spring-decoupled, anodised aluminium case, the Powerigel ("power hedgehog") is manufactured by the German Naim Distributor, Musicline, and features the same cable used by Naim Audio.

A special welding technique practically eliminates insertion loss, which is one of the main problems with conventional mains distribution units that use screw connections, while star wiring provides consistent sound quality for all components connected to the Powerigel.
