HDMI is the first uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface supported by the consumer electronics industry. HDMI can transmit digital multi-channel audio as well as standard and high definition video formats utilising a single cable. Because HDMI is all digital, there is no signal loss due to the digital analogue conversion process. This allows HDMI to deliver an extremely dynamic Home Theatre experience.

The IXOS Overture XHT458 has been designed to connect and transfer digital video and digital audio signals between a DVD or a Satellite/Cable box and the following components: AV Processor, LCD Display, Plasma, Projector and TV.
